This is my first post on this Blog, so please give me some time to get a decent amount in that will be worth reading!

    Building for IE5

Unless I am specifically requested by the client, this will be the last website I build for IE5 and IE5.5 on both Mac and PC.

I realise I am a bit slow to get off the train and others stopped building for IE5 a while ago. I seemed to keep running into clients that were still browsing their finished product on IE5, but that stopped a while ago now so it’s time to finally give IE5 the flick.

So, I have developed this Portfolio/Blog to work in IE5 on Mac and PC and IE5.5 on PC. It’s been a challenge mainly because of the fact that sIFR3 fonts don’t work in IE5. I wanted to have one last crack with these browsers before I let them go.

So, now that’s over, without further adieu, I bid farewell to IE5. It’s been painful at times, but rewarding as well. At the very least this browser will always be there to remind us of how far web standards have come, even for Microsoft products.
